WESTFIELD (September 29, 2021) — The USA Baseball 18U national team is composed of the country’s top 16-to-18-year-old, including Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School senior and Indiana Bulls Baseball member Andrew Dutkanych.

Dutkanych, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound, right-handed pitcher and third baseman, earned a spot on the 26-man roster after competing in the 2021 Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) League as well as the 2021 18U National Team Trials on August 27-31 in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida.

“It was such an honor to play for the United States and represent our country on the baseball field,” Dutkanych said. “It was fun and inspiring to be around some of the best players from all over the country and I am hoping that I can continue to improve to eventually make the Collegiate National Team, play in the World Baseball Classic or whatever is next.”

As the 14th ranked player in the country for the Class of 2022, Dutkanych competed in a seven-game friendships series against Canada from September 3-9, helping Team USA bring home a 5-1-1 win and making his coaches, including Indiana Bulls President Quinn Moore, incredibly proud.

“Andrew is a remarkable, coachable hard worker who’s always been driven to improve all areas of his game,” Moore said. “It’s been fun watching him grow and develop over the years, and we know he’s going to have a bright future in baseball and life because of his strong desire to improve every day.”

Dutkanych is also a 2022 Vanderbilt University baseball commit.
