14U White – Rance Pearson
15U Black – Scott French
The Board of Directors hired Bulls alumnus Scott French to the position of Director of Baseball Operations in 2019. “Frenchy” has a deep baseball pedigree well-grounded in the state of Indiana. His relationship with the Indiana Bulls started in 1997 when he played for head coach Craig Moore on a Bulls team that won the NABFWorld Series. Scott proceeded to graduate from Shakamak High School in 1998, leading the state in hitting at .586 and was the MVP of the Indiana North/South All Star Series.
Scott’s baseball career continued at Ball State University where he was a four-year starter on teams that won two Mid-America Conference titles. A career .321 hitter and still the all-time leader in walks, Scott also played with 4 first round draft picks during his time Ball State.
Scott returned to Ball State as an assistant coach for 10 years in two different stints — 2004-2007 and in 2013-2018. Most recently, Scott was the recruiting coordinator for Ball State and was responsible for landing 2019 first round MLB draft pick and Bulls alumnus, pitcher Drey Jameson. Another recruiting coup for Scott while at Ball State was the signing and development of Zach Plesac, who debuted on the mound for the Cleveland Indians in 2019.
Scott has a passion for the game of baseball and for developing players of all ages. A tireless recruiter, the Board of Directors looks forward to the coaches and players that Scott will bring into the organization.
15U White – Tony Cookerly
Tony Played baseball at Brownsburg High School. He went on to play at both Franklin and Marian College where he was a 4 year starter. Tony began his coaching career with the Indiana Bulls in 1998. In that time has coached from ages 12-17. Most of that time was with 16 & 17 black. He has coached more Bulls baseball games than anyone in Bulls history. Tony also coached High School baseball both at Cardinal Ritter and Brownsburg High Schools. Tony owns and operates 2 successful Restaurants, and is married with 3 children.
15U Grey – Zach Foley
Coach Foley is entering his 7th season for the Indiana Bulls. Foley is a graduate of Fishers High School and was a three-year varsity starter in the Tiger’s baseball program where he earned All-Conference and All-County honors. He then went on to be a starting pitcher at Anderson University until graduation in 2013. After college, Coach Foley began his coaching career at Fishers High School and was the varsity pitching coach until 2016. He then left the Tigers and began teaching PE and Health at Brownsburg High School where he led the JV program for the Bulldogs for three years. Currently, Coach Foley is the Varsity pitching coach for the Brownsburg baseball program and also coaches 8th grade basketball at Brownsburg East MS. He resides in Zionsville with his wife, Katie, and their two-year-old labradoodle, Frankie.
16U Black – Ryan Berryman
Coach Berryman was born and raised in Kokomo, IN and graduated from Western High School. He went on to play college baseball at Northern Kentucky University before finishing his playing career in an Independent league. Coach Berryman is in his 4th season as a Head Baseball Coach of Western High School and previously guided Northwestern High School’s program for 11 seasons. Overall, Berryman owns a 286-100 career record and his (.741) winning % ranks in the top-10 amongst Indiana coaches. He has served as the President of the IHSBCA, twice been selected to lead the Indiana North All-Star team, has been named District Coach of the Year four times, and has helped guide 11 North All-Stars and 23 All-State players. Currently, Berryman is an IHSBCA Vice-President, serves as an IHSBCA Executive Board member, and is the District E Representative. Coach Berryman has coached at various levels within the Indiana Bulls organization over the years and he currently leads the 16 Black and Fall Underclass Ft. Myers teams. He is an Indiana Bulls Board member and serves as a valuable resource in the college recruitment of Indiana Bulls players. Berryman has been an Associate Scout for 19 years and currently assists the New York Yankees. Coach Berryman teaches Middle School Social Studies at Western. He and his wife, Amanda, reside in Kokomo and have four children (Rhett, Avery, Cal, and Olivia).
16U White – Ryan Bunnell
Ryan Bunnell enters his eighteenth year as Head Baseball Coach at Westfield High School. During his tenure, the Shamrocks have won four Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships, three Sectional Championships, a Sweet Sixteen and an Elite Eight finish. In 2009, Bunnell guided the Rocks to a State Runner-Up finish after a heart breaking loss in extra-innings in the state championship game. Under Coach Bunnell’s guidance, the Rocks have set twenty eight school records, had four All-State and fourteen Honorable Mention All State selections, produced the only eight Indiana All Stars in school history, the school’s first IHSBCA Player of the Year and the school’s only four MLB draft picks including Kevin Plawecki of the Boston Red Sox. Over his seventeen years at Westfield, Coach Bunnell has helped guide thirty nine players into college baseball, fifteen at the Division I level. He is married to Michelle and has four kids – Kaylie, AJ, Cooper and Beau.
16U Grey – Andy McClain
Andy McClain-Head Baseball Coach at Lawrence Central High School-( 28 years as a Coach)played at Manchester University and was an assistant at alma mater Martinsville HS-Won 6 straight Regionals there-As a Head Coach took Brebeuf to State Finals in 2012 while winning a State Championship at Norwell HS in 2013(Josh VanMeter-Cincinnati Reds)Summer experience with College teams in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne while Coaching teams with US Athletics and the Summit City Sluggers. Proud Father to beautiful Daughter MacKenzie.
17U Black – Sean Laird
Coach Laird is a graduate of Kokomo High School in 2005 where he lettered in baseball 4 years and was an All-Conference, All State, and North/South All-Star selection during his career. Coach Laird played on the Indiana Bulls 17’s from 2003-2004 and part of the World Series Runner-Up Bulls 17’s in 2003. He received a scholarship to play college baseball at the University of South Alabama for 4 seasons from 2006-2010. His career numbers at South were the following: .319 Batting Average, 23 Home Runs, 41 Doubles, and a 110 RBI’s. While at South Alabama, Coach Laird received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and a Master’s Degree in Health & Exercise Science while serving as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for multiple sports during Grad School. Coach Laird currently owns and operates his own strength training, sports performance, and baseball training business in Kokomo, Laird’s Training LLC. He is also an author of the Amazon Kindle eBook “How to Build a Ballplayer”. He resides in Kokomo, Indiana with his wife Lauren, their daughters Scarlett and Arya, and son Crash. Coach Laird has coached the Bulls 16 and 17 Black teams since 2012.
17U White – Troy Drosche
Troy Drosche grew up in Louisville, KY. He moved to Indianapolis to attend Marian University and play baseball. Troy was a four-year starter and letter-winner who served as team captain during his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he was named to the All-Conference first team and earned Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Year honors as well as NAIA All-America honorable mention. In 2009, Troy was inducted into the M-Club Wall of Fame at Marian University for his successful baseball career. Troy is currently entering his 12th season as the head baseball coach at Avon High School where he also teaches in the business department. His teams have won 3 of the past 4 sectional championships for Avon. Last season, Avon made it to the semi-state final four by winning the regional championship. Troy is in his 6th season of coaching summer baseball for the Indiana Bulls. He and his wife Jenn have three children—Olivia (12), Trevor (10), and Kendra (8)—all involved with travel basketball and baseball/softball.
